Look who's back? Club Blog is back with four fabulous 6th graders, two sensational 7th graders, and two marvelous 8th graders. Over the past 4 weeks, we examined blogs, read blogs, and scoured blogs for inspiration. Students had the opportunity to brainstorm ideas they were passionate about and that they might want to teach others. We held round table discussions exploring possible blog titles, categories, and widgets. Then students had the opportunity to outline their first blog post to ensure that they wrote a snazzy introduction and jazzy conclusion.
And that brings us up to speed to today. Today, Mr. Katz reviewed safety tips for blogging and on-line security. Students had the opportunity to create their own blogs! Ah, the suspense! Check back soon for updated blogs from the 2012 Semester One Blogging Club!

The Beginning of Club Blog
Welcome to Club Blog!
For the second semester of the 2011-2012 academic school year, KIS Middle School created Club Blog. In CLUB BLOG, students
write a blog focusing on their passion-- or something they feel capable of
teaching others. They will learn how to develop ideas, craft their
own unique writing style, write for a specific audience, build a fan
base, and manage their own blog.
We were fortunate to be joined by 11 dynamite students who created blogs on a variety of fabulous topics ranging from advice for siblings to nerd pride! We started the first ten sessions or so with background information about blog safety, blog brainstorming sessions, and blog set up procedures.
